Tu B'Shvat at the Mizrachi Bayit I
At kiddush, Leonard and Keshet Stein will introduce a Sephardic piyut song about Tu B'Shvat. They are going to discuss the various symbolic references embedded in the lyrics and teach the melody as we go along so everyone can sing. It will be a kind of musical learning shiur! There will be a special Tu B'Shvat kiddush.

Tu B'Shvat at the Mizrachi Bayit (and your home) II
This Shabbat is Tu B'Shvat.  Linked to the bulletin are two different seders.  One is a child-friendly seder, the other is a seder that explores the history of the holiday, from a line in a Mishnah, to the Kabbalists in Tzfat, to the early days of the State of Israel, to contemporary environmentalists. For those who would like to run a seder, a great time for it is over dessert at one of your Shabbat meals.

Sefaria
Sefaria has announced the release of The William Davidson Talmuda free digital edition of the Babylonian Talmud that will include English and Modern Hebrew translation by Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, interlinked to major commentaries, biblical citations, Midrash, Kabbalah, Halakhah, and an ever-growing library of Jewish texts. One can already access 22 tractates in English (Berakhot through Bava Batra) on Sefaria. The Modern Hebrew translations will begin appearing online later this year, and the remaining English tractates will follow.

Replant Israel
Tu B'Shvat is the traditional time to support Israel by planting trees. This year it is especially important to help Israeli farmers recover from tragic arson fires by planting fruit trees in Israel. Click HERE for more information.
