Shabbat Hagadol Derasha
This shabbat at 6:15 pm Rabbi Katchen will be giving his Shabbat Hagadol Derasha on "Why do we ask questions at the seder" (at 6:15) and "Hilchot Pesach" (at 7:05 pm). 

 

Pre-Pesach Pot-luck Lunch
For those who wish to participate in the pre-pesach potluck but can't decide what to bring, here are suggestions for contributions to this Shabbat's potluck lunch. Bring a few items.
Please remember all food must be Dairy free and nut free. It must be bought and prepared foods which need to have kosher certification. The food has to be pareve.

Suggestions: (if you have other ideas, that's OK too.. Bread and a veggie cholent will be supplied)
Bagged salads-coleslaw or lettuce type
fresh fruit or veggies (which you can cut up at the shul on Shabbat)
salads :  rice/ pasta salad (not home made)
Veggie or fruit trays from Sobey's or another store
guacamole, baba ganouj, eggplant salad, etc.

lox, smokedfish
tofutti cream cheese
soy spreads
soy deli slices (Yves)
juice or wine

 

Pre-Pesach Garbage Collection
The pre-pesach garbage collection for solid waste will take place on April 10 from 7:30 am to 10:30 am. There will be two recycling trucks and one organics truck at the corner of McGillivray Ave. and Falkirk St. 

 

 

Profile Update
The Mizrachi Bayit uses a content management system called ShulCloud. In order to enhance our use of the information in the system beyond delivery of the newsletter, Rabbi Katchen has asked that everyone who receives our newsletter update their profile. In order to do this, please follow these simple steps:

  • you'll need to login by clicking on the grey 'login' button on the top right-hand side of the page. If you are having difficulty logging in please contact us at mizrachibayit@gmail.com for assistance.
  • Once you have logged in, click on the "My Account" button which will bring you to a page that has the following headings: My Profile, My Subscriptions, Manage People, My Yahrzeits and My Events.
  • To the right of each of these headings, there is a link to click to add or modify the information in each section.
  • Please take a few moments to update the information in your profile.

Don't forget to hit the 'save' button at the bottom of each window before you close it.

Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) is designated by the State of Israel on the Hebrew date of 27 Nisan. The community joins together in our annual memorial (yizkor) service, presented in partnership with several community organizations.
