Festive Canada Day Kiddush
Thanks to Morty Shapiro for sponsoring a special celebratory kiddush this Shabbat, along with Les Lightstone for ordering the food. What do you think will be served? Red and white donuts perhaps? You'll need to come and see! (But come for davening first.)

Special Program for the Three Weeks
From Rabbi Torczyner:

Gd-willing, this Sunday, July 1st and the fast of the 17th of Tammuz, our Beit Midrash will present a special program, From Exile to Redemption, to mark the start of Judaism's "Three Weeks" mourning period. The program is at Yeshivat Or Chaim, 159 Almore Ave. We will present four consecutive, 30-minute classes, looking at each of the three special haftarot of the Three Weeks, as well as the "Nachamu" haftorah of consolation which follows Tisha b'Av.

I will speak at 10 AM on the Haftorah of Pinchas which starts everything off, from the first chapter of Yirmiyahu.
Adam Friedmann will speak at 10:30 AM on the Haftorah of Matot-Masei, which continues the theme of pending exile.
Rabbi Jonathan Ziring will speak at 11 AM on "Chazon", the Haftorah of Devarim, which comes from the first chapter of Yeshayah.
Yaron Perez will conclude the program with an 11:30 AM class on "Nachamu", the Haftorah of Vaetchanan, which offers consolation.

There is no charge, and all are welcome. A flyer is below; please share it with anyone who might be interested.
