Please Come on Time

Some of our regulars are away for the chagim, so extra efforts to attend (and to attend on time) would be appreciated.

From Rabbi Katchen

I am sad that I will not be with the community to celebrate our completion and new beginning of the Torah this year.  I have a couple of requests for our community: please volunteer to add joy to the celebration by providing a 2-3 minute reflection, vort, derasha, between each of the hakafot; this is especially requested of the women of our minyan to ensure everybody is able to celebrate together.  And on that note, please remember official aliyot are for males above bar mitzvah, children will be included as a group during kol neyarim.

Have a chag sameach and I look forward to seeing everyone upon my return

Shul Dues are Due

It's that time of the year again! Memberships are $500 for a family and $250 for an individual. The easiest way to pay is using this link.

Liberation75

Liberation75: The Global Gathering of Holocaust Survivors, Descendants, Educators and Friends, is a once-in-a-lifetime event which will be held in Toronto from May 31-June 2, 2020, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of liberation from the Holocaust.

Liberation75 will focus on remembering the victims, honouring the survivors, showcasing the future of Holocaust education, reflecting on antisemitism in the world, celebrating the role of the liberators, and committing to protecting freedom, diversity, human rights and inclusion. We anticipate thousands of attendees from around the world.

Liberation75 is partnering with over 85 global organizations to showcase best-in-class Holocaust and anti-genocide education, awareness and remembrance, including interactive exhibits, presentations, panel discussions, films, artistic representations, music and more. All programming will focus on keeping the Holocaust relevant for future generations.

Registration opens on September 10, 2019 and we need your help spreading the word across your communities. We kindly ask that you include the attached graphic in your High Holiday newsletters this year to help raise awareness about our event with your members.
